AI consulting & strategy

A Clear Direction
for Your AI Ambition.

Turn interest in artificial intelligence into a practical business plan. We help identify useful applications, understand the information they need, and define a pilot that can be evaluated before a wider investment.

THE BUSINESS CONTEXT

Start with
What Matters.

An AI project begins with a business question: which task takes too much time, which information is difficult to find, or which service could be easier to use? Starting there creates a better brief than choosing a model first and searching for a problem afterwards.

Plateau combines a foundation in enterprise IT with hands-on AI exploration and application development. Our consulting approach connects the opportunity with the data, people, integration work, review requirements, and operating costs needed to make it useful.

YOUR FIRST ENGAGEMENT

A Useful
Starting Point.

Discovery Engagement

Map three candidate workflows and define one pilot with a baseline, budget assumptions and acceptance criteria.

What We Need from You

Process examples, source owners, intended users and the business outcome you want to improve.

What We Can Measure

  • Business value and feasibility
  • Data readiness
  • Clarity of acceptance criteria
  • Estimated total cost

Measures are agreed for your project. Results depend on the data, workflow and evaluation; they are not guaranteed improvements.

WHAT WE DO

The Detail Behind
the Capability.

01

Find the Right First Use Case

We map repetitive work, information bottlenecks, and high-volume requests with the people doing the job. Each candidate is assessed for business value, feasibility, data availability, and the consequences of an incorrect result. A knowledge assistant, document summariser, content workflow, or internal drafting tool may offer a focused starting point. Some processes are better served by a simpler rules-based automation.

02

Review Information and Access

Useful AI depends on relevant source material and a clear access policy. We examine where information lives, who owns it, how it is updated, and who may see it. The plan identifies missing documents, inconsistent records, personal information, and provider constraints. An assistant should not make material available to someone who could not access the source in the first place.

03

Define a Pilot People Can Evaluate

A pilot needs examples and acceptance criteria. We agree a representative set of tasks, the expected form of the output, a baseline for the current process, and the questions reviewers will answer. Measures can include task completion time, grounded answer quality, reviewer corrections, and cost per completed task. These are evaluation targets for the project, not promises of a fixed percentage improvement.

04

Plan Adoption and Ongoing Ownership

An AI tool changes how a team works. The roadmap therefore covers training, feedback, review responsibility, escalation, and ownership after launch. We document what the tool can do, where it should decline, and when a person must decide. Budget planning includes integration and maintenance as well as provider usage, so the pilot can inform a realistic production decision.

A DEFINED ENGAGEMENT

Know What
You’re Building.

Your proposal defines the exact scope, responsibilities, milestones, and exclusions. Depending on the engagement, the work can include:

  • A prioritised AI opportunity map
  • Data and access readiness observations
  • A defined pilot scope and exclusions
  • Representative evaluation tasks and success criteria
  • An indicative implementation and operating-cost model
  • A phased adoption and review roadmap

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

A Few Useful Answers.

Do we need a complete AI strategy before starting?

A focused discovery exercise is usually enough to define an initial pilot. The wider roadmap can develop from the evidence collected during that pilot. The important point is to agree the task, data, users, and evaluation method first.

Can you help a business that has never used AI?

Yes. We can begin with the existing workflow and explain suitable options in plain language. Workshops and practical examples help teams identify what is useful and what still requires human judgment.

Will you recommend a particular AI provider?

The recommendation follows the use case, available features, data-handling requirements, budget, and integration environment. Provider terms and capabilities are checked during project planning rather than assumed to remain unchanged.

What should we prepare for discovery?

Bring examples of the task, the documents or systems involved, a rough indication of volume, and the person responsible for the process. Use approved or anonymised examples when the material is sensitive.

Can a pilot lead to a full application?

Yes. If the agreed evaluation supports moving forward, the next stage can include application integration, permissions, monitoring, deployment, and team adoption. Those production requirements are scoped explicitly.
